The 2x4-inch opening of this horse fence wire is specifically sized for horses - small enough to prevent hooves and legs from passing through the fence, which is the primary safety concern with horse fencing, while maintaining adequate fence strength across the full 60-inch height. Class 3 galvanization on this horse fence provides approximately three times the zinc coating of standard Class 1 fence wire, which translates directly to a significantly longer fence life in the outdoor environment before corrosion begins to compromise the wire.
