Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Open Google Maps and search for your address.
2. Switch to satellite view by clicking on the satellite view option in the bottom left-hand corner.
3. Zoom in and locate the area you want to measure.
4. Click to drop a pin on the starting point of the perimeter.
5. Right-click on the pin and select “Measure Distance.”
6. Move to the next corner of the property and click to create a measuring line between the points.
7. Continue clicking around the perimeter of the property, following its shape.
8. Once you reach the starting point, click on the first pin you dropped to complete the perimeter measurement.
9. Note the total distance shown (in feet) at the bottom of the screen. ( e.g., 4965.27 ).

6. For example, you may need 621 posts and 931 rail boards for a property with a perimeter of 4965 feet.
